How to welcome the inescapable visitor? The unexpected and the expected? Using words and music | Jukka Perko Avara and the beloved Finnish actor Hannu-Pekka Björkman have created a picture of transience | life | and death.
The performance | which takes it´s inspiration from the medieval Danse Macabre – or the Dance of Death | travels through time. From the compositions of Francois Villon and La Folia towards North to the arms of the poets Tomas Tranströmer | Gosta Ågren and many others. And somewhere between the birches smiles the kind Death of the painter Hugo Simberg.
The question and the journey is shared by all. How do we live and die in the vortex of the universe. When big gates are opened | and big gates are closed.
